Full Description
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Police Officer Standards and Training Council’s Field Services Training Division, is offering a three-day training titled “Officer Survival Series – Ground Fighting.”  Instruction will be provided by trainers from OSS (Officer Survival Series).

Because of the popularity of MMA members of the public are training in grappling.  The result is that many police Use-of-Force situations end up on the ground.  This course will teach officers how to avoid going to the ground, if possible, how to survive a ground fighting situation if they are forced to the ground, and how to safely control subjects on the ground if needed.  Officers will learn a systematic and concept-based approach to understanding the various ground positions and how to best position themselves to remain safe and retain their tools on their duty-belt.  Students will learn these skills in RLM’s normal crawl, walk, run format.
