Full Description
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Police Officer Standards and Training Council’s Field Services Training Division is providing a one (1) day seminar titled “Sexual Assault Investigations.”  The instructor for this class will be Lieutenant Joseph Pangaro (Ret) of Pangaro Training and Management.

This is a one-day, role player-based class.  Participants will understand the unique dynamics of conducting a sexual assault investigation involving victims and suspects of all sexual orientations.

Upon completion of this course participants will.
• Understand the unique nature of sexual assault investigations
• Develop effective interview and interrogation techniques
• Navigate the legal aspects of sexual assault cases
• Utilize advanced investigative techniques
• Collect and analyze evidence effectively
• Address false allegations and case challenges

Students successfully completing the course will receive Review Training Credit in the following areas:  Area 512 Sexual Assault & Rape Crisis 6 hours

Reporting Instructions
Tuition for this course is $75. Lunch may be purchased at local restaurants. The uniform Dress Code for POST In-Service training (General Notice 23-02) will be in effect. We ask that all training supervisors inform assigned personnel that they are required to dress accordingly. The training is scheduled from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
